Was blessed to find 10 this season, pictured is an adult female. 6 hatchlings,
and 3 what seemed to be 2 year olds.

Thanks Toby! Always such a thrill to see one!

I can imagine. I herped the sky islands this past June - saw several nice herps, but no green rats. A friend of mine saw one just the week before I was there though...

For now, I guess I'll have to be happy with seeing them in captivity...

They are funny animals as far as movement patterns go. I'm moving onto new pastures next year to see if I can replicate the successes I've had in 2 ranges so far. Definitely have to do your research well before heading out on these. Best thing I ever did is to convince my wife I NEEDED an ATV! Allows me to hit a lot of "roads" that most people would never take their personal vehicles on.

It really allows for more access into habitat that sees far less herping pressure. I added LID lights and I glow like Chernobyl on a remote/dark goat track! I always alert the first Border Patrol agent I see so as to not have 10 or so SUVs descend on me once I get cruising.

I bet that ATV is a sight on a dark night! Good points all around - I was definitely on well traveled roads, in popular areas.
