OH Kasich signs Executive Order

EricWI Nov 28, 2012 03:17 AM

Gov. John Kasich today signed an executive order allowing the Ohio Department of Agriculture to establish on an emergency basis rules regarding standards for care, control and security of exotic animals that are on a restricted species list under a new state law.

The rules must, by law, be in place by Dec. 4. A special exotic animals board is hammering out details for exotic animals and snakes covered by the law which took effect in September. However, Kasich issued the order to allow the department to move ahead with the rules on an emergency basis.

The governor is NOT happy the People are choosing to fight against his and HSUS' legislation. If not defeated in court you can bet this order will include any and all exotics. Including leopard geckos and ball pythons. The post above explains HSUS' intent for the entire country. If this thing is not defeated you can bet HSUS will be seeking bans in your state also. Ohio IS the front line against the AR agenda. As always, this costs money. Unfortunately, the herp community has not contributed much to what they claim to love. The mammal community is far outspending us in Ohio to protect their rights. Ohio Association of Animal Owners or Herplobby is fighting this for us. PLEASE contribute now!!
