Adult Blood Enclosure Size

Ronin3886 Nov 30, 2012 12:58 PM

I have a female blood who's 6' long and 18lbs. I am planning on building her a new enclosure and was inquiring about dimensions and material. I was leaning towards plywood or possibly melamine and was thinking of either 3'x5'x1' or 4'x6'x12'. It would be great if any one else has built a DYI cage for theirs if they could show a picture with dimensions, please.

Sincerely,

Matt Patterson

IMHO 3'x5' it would be fine, however 1'6'' height would be better

My enclosures measure 2 ft. x 4 ft. x 1 ft. tall. Front loading. I made one of the two of them from oak plywood and covered the inside with plastic laminate. It's been a super good cage. I put a radiant heater on the ceiling at one end and a fluorescent light at the other end. I keep a big male blood in it (about 6 ft. and 20 lbs.) and he seems happy as can be in there. Would make the same cage again if I was adding a new blood to my collection.
