IGUANA MORPH #1 - Coral Glow!

snakesatsunset Dec 21, 2012 05:47 PM

This is not an albino, but what we call a CORAL GLOW like the ball python mutation with similar colors. These guys have normal colored eyes, and coral pink and orange colors on their legs, neck, tail and face. These are our favorite, and are only getting better with age. We imported these direct from El Salvador.

This is also a Iguana morph, proven to be simple recessive.
These are not albinos either, as they have perfect vision, and have dark pupils, and orange iris. This is our breeder male in full breeding colors, and his girlfriend at the moment. This guy is awesome, and whennot fired up, he is a beautiful neon dark yellow, with orange spikes.

Albinos come in two forms in the animal kingdom. T- , which is what we are used to seeing, as in albino ball pythons, albino red ear sliders, albino burmese pythons, etc. Then there is Tyrosine+ (T+, aka Caramel Albino) which is a darker variety, and rarer.
This is one of our 2012 T+(Caramel Albino) Iguanas. They have pink eyes, red pupils, and grow up to be very purplish/grey colored with unusual looking white. Real neat, we cant wait to produce these!People lump all the lutinos, caramel albinos, and coral glows into one category, but genetically speaking its impossible. All are seperate genes, all look different as adults, and all are inherited differently except for lutino and caramel which are simple recessive.

This is a T- albino iguana, note the yellow skin, pink eyes. We do not work with these as they are already established in the trade, but we do import different strains from El Salvador which vary greatly farm to farm. All are similar in base colors, and eye color, some just have more striping in pink, or more dots in pink, etc.

They are all absolutely beautiful!

I love morphs. This is my boy, Tazumal, with his very blue body and his face that is becoming more and more yellow with every shed.
