sometimes thet eat first and grow faster...
sometimes they don't
when I bred...I always hated the fact that we get stuck with the junk for sale last.....yet we have the privledge of keeping the best stuff for ourselves when we want ....
...sell the runts....
experimenting is for the past and for scientists....
think ahead....$$$$$$bigger and better
(bigger = more fecundity )

Actually I'm not looking to sell anything at this time. I'm raising a whole clutch of glades rats with the help of a friend, for the ones that turn out to be the deepest red/orange. While I'm at it, I'm also recording growth rates. I have logged the lengths at hatching. I'm just curious if anyone has done the same, and what their findings were. I've never raised a whole clutch before, but usually just kept 1 or 2 and gave away or sold the rest.
you cannot guess which will grow the fastest....usually the larger baby will grow larger, faster....but you never know which will just sprout out.....
...good luck....

Thanks for your input. I had one hatch out at 9" while the rest hatched out at 11"to 12.75". The 9" one started out a little slower, but he seems to be picking up, growing inch by inch at about the same rate as the others.
