I am wondering...

Do your Cyclura attack certain foods they way carnivorous lizards attack live prey? Kismet attacks and shakes her blueberries to death. Do they share a common ancestor with carnivorous lizards? Perhaps while they evolved into vegetarians, the instinct to kill prey remained? She does this regularly with blueberries and with figs, but not with her regular salad.

does she do this even when you put the blueberries in the bowl?

Yes, for about the first three or four blueberries. The same thing with figs. She does not do it with any other food and after about the fourth blueberry, if I give her more she eats it normally.

Petra attacks "good stuff" if its thrown at her like you are showing..aka..cheerios, bananas, bread etc.."

Its def. a predatory behavior- hense why we call her the "crazy vegetable monster"
