What morph is this?

Bearr Jan 01, 2013 09:19 AM

I apologize for the blurriness of the pictures. I'm not very good with morphs (this is actually my first snake ever owned). I got him from a breeder, the rest of the clutches had mostly normals and an anery.

Is he a Miami phase? I don't know much about morphs in general but it seems to be the best fit.
First hatched/very young he was yellowish-gray with distinct black around deep yellow-brown spots. Now he is gray with the same black markings, the spot color is a brownish orange. His scutes has always been white.

Most likely this little one is a hypo. Can you get up some photos that are in focus?

Bearr Jan 02, 2013 07:46 PM

It's hard to get him completely in focus because he's pretty strikey/defensive, but was one from today he's gone back into the dullish yellow colors so I'm confused again, probably just another shed though.
I hope to get some better pictures but since I fed him today I'm gonna wait a while before irritating him with the camera again.

That snake looks like a normal. Photographing it in natural light (outdoors) would be the best way to get an accurate representation of what it is (it looks like two completely different snakes when you look at the two photos you've posted).

Thanks. I am a little worried about taking him outside because he's super thrashy compared to my others. Having a fixed lens camera doesn't help, lol.

Thanks for the reply! I do believe you're right though, and that he is normal, he just looks so different in shed. it's strange. Thanks again.

Thanks for the replies. I was so confused because of how different he looks in shed compared to out of shed.

Thanks again!
