What is everyone feeding their mealworms

Fleck Jan 17, 2013 10:27 PM

Hello
Other than the standard carrots or yams what else are you feeding your mealworms to increase their nutrition as feeders?

I ask as read on a site that there are ways to increase their calcium and overall nutritional value by feeding certain foods but it did not state how.

I was thinking maybe high protein dry dog or cat food?

I feed them to some amphibians and calcium dusting is not possible due to semi-wet conditions.

Thank you

a thought?....you could take the mealworms and put them in pure reptile vitamins for a day or two prior to feeding them?....add oyster shell....pure cuttlefish bone...etc....they would feed on pure vitamins and calcium for a day or three....???

...just a thought.....

I fed mine all kinds of stuff....(scrap dust from mouse lab chow to cereals)...

I am going to try that with a few mealworms for a few days and see if they look to be eating it and if so will use that method as sounds great.

Thanks
