Cuban rock iguana info??

opklm Jan 20, 2013 03:32 PM

So the herp shop I frequent recently reacquired a rock iguana that they had previously sold about a year ago. He came back with scars and burn marks all over his body and missing a few toes. He's about 2 now, healthy again and just the sweetest thing. I had the opportunity to meet him today and I'm in love. I'm considering making him an addition to my home but like every animal I have, I'd like to know as much as possible about them beforehand to be sure I can give him the best home possible. I can't seem to find much info other than housing requirements. I am very aware of how big he may get but other than that, I'm clueless. Any personal experience or links would be appreciated.

They are WONDERFUL! They have a calmer, more stable personality than greens, as a general rule. Kingsnake has a Cyclura and Ctenosaura list like this one where you can learn more.

You can get a lot of answers specific to rock iguanas there. It is so sad to hear what happened to that one! I hope he is okay!

You can also check out one of my rock iguanas at www.aliceandkizzie.com.
