So quiet in here...

waspinator421 Mar 09, 2013 12:16 PM

I know there isn't much action this time of year, but it seems quieter than usual. How is everyone doing? Any lockups sighted? Any new additions?

A sad event happened here back in December. Haven't had the heart to post it yet, but I will soon.

I've been pacing for Lilac to drop... She's due any time in the next couple weeks. Fawn is looking very gravid and I think I may see Navy starting to plump as well. Petunia is acting pregger, but doesn't look it. Could be a very small litter.... she is getting up there in age.

Finally started a Facebook page as well. Still lots to add.

Hope you and all your snakes are doing well!

It does seem unusually quiet. I have been away off the forum for a few years and getting back into it. I hope your gravids do well and sorry to hear about your December saddness.

Thanks! Glad to hear you're coming back to the scene. Not sure if I've seen you post here before. Please forgive me if you have and I don't remember!

I have thought this as well. There is a lot more chatter on the FB rainbows forum lately but I really don’t think that forum is at the same level that this one used to be. There is a lot of elementary banter back and forth. Nevertheless we should try to revive this forum.

I am also at fault; I haven’t been active in the BRB seen for a little while now.

I haven’t seen a lot of action out of my animals this year but I rarely do. I just come in one day and “poof” I have babies. I am keeping my fingers crossed on a few interesting projects I have going.

Ok John... I can't figure it out... what is the FB rainbow forum? Facebook? Typo'd Fauna? Lol... I guess I'm limited in my knowledge of forums out there.

Glad to see at least a little more action in here. Personally I'm swamped and overloaded with a remodeling project. (all three bathrooms gutted and replaced) Most of the work is being done by contractors but the disruption of life is a major PITA!! Right now we only have water upstairs and outside, no kitchen, downstairs bath or laundry room water. That means any cleaning has to be done with cold hose water.

On a brighter note, when done I will have a dedicated snake room sink!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Seen a lot of hookups, several sperm plugs and may even be close to my first BRB POS. A few females refused food this week, always a good sign. Maybe I'm just too anal but I really do NOT miss the days when babies just showed up whenever. Now with observations and record keeping I know which female is due when. Yeah it's plus or minus 10 days but I know on any given day which ones are not due yet, due and even overdue.

The website is sorely behind with mating records as is my tracking spreadsheet. I do have the records on the individual pairing cards though and when I can take a breath, I will make the updates to keep everyone informed how the individual pairings are going.

Wow, three bathrooms at the same time! Gah! Ya could have kept one for family use while the others get fixed... don't you have a teenage daughter? What were you thinking!

I only have one sad little bathroom... with a window behind the plastic shower wall. Makes a nice little glow in the daytime, lol.

Not exactly at the same time, did both upstairs at the same time with piping and electrical left temporarily connected in the open wall of the laundry room underneath. Once those two were done back to functional took out the downstairs, finished the upstairs wiring to the electrical panel and now finishing up the repipe to copper. Next will be wiring the third bathroom, button up the walls and build that one back to functional. All three done in natural stone and all three different. Will post up some pics when done. The girls are now both off to college, exactly why we waited this long.
