Greater Cleveland Area Herping Today

tspuckler Mar 10, 2013 07:00 PM

With temperatures hitting 70 degrees, I decided to go outside and have a look around.

Around these parts, the year's first Red-winged Blackbird sightings are considered a sign that Spring is on the way.

A Painted Turtle showing how it got it's name - for its bright, seemingly "painted on" colors. Even its reflection was colorful.

Bullfrog.

In some places the water was still icy.

But not everywhere - Red-eared Slider.

A pair of Mallard Ducks chillin'.

This gigantic Snapping Turtle was prehistoric looking...and had a head the size of my fist.

Green Frog.

It seemed like everyone was out enjoying the unseasonably warm weather today.

Happy herping!
