Monitor questions

MoblMec Mar 22, 2013 02:41 PM

Hi Guys
I just aquired a young sav. monitor for my son. It is in great shape at 22 inches long and very filled out and susposed to be under 1 year old. We set him up in the living room in a cage that I used to breed Emerald tree boas in . It is light, temp, and humidity controled. The size is 4 foot x 2 foot x 3 foot tall with 6 inches of dirt and bark for substrate.. I realize this will be to small as he gets bigger and we can acommadate that also. My question is can I house a small black throat monitor in that cage with him and grow them both out togeather? Once again I realize that they will grow out of this size cage pretty fast and i have an area out side to make a large outdoor enclosure for them both when it is needed. My question is can they be housed togeather???? What do you think???
Thanks
MoblMec

id keep them apart
they fight with size and age,,,or being 2 males there be a fight,,,, i wood think and most likly when your not around to stop them
and its just not safe you would not see them chillin on log together in the wild
but im sure people do keep them together and might not hurt
if you want try it but most people would say not to
good luck
