Anyone Have a Housebroiken Milksnake?

Drdan Mar 26, 2013 06:24 AM

About every week, my male 2011' black milksnake ("Midnight" for those who name their pets) is given a small thawed out rat. Then, after about 5 days, he does his business in either one of two corners of his terrarium. He is super consistent, and the housing is a piece of cake to clean. He has never soiled his large water bowl either.

I use a large paper towel soaked in alcohol to spot clean the area, and then use another alcohol soaked paper towel to make sure the area is fully clean. I use aspen bedding, and change it about every 2-3 months, after cleaning the entire inside with alcohol.

I heard that some sub species of milksnakes are messy... Is my snake an exception, or do you too have "housebroken" milksnakes?

non of my milks are house broken, but oddly enough i do have a few other species that seem to be.

both of my grease kings always soil the same corner of their cage... the coner behind their water bowl that is pushed into the corner.

my female argentine boa always goes along the back wall of her boaphile.. right up against the wall.

i had a corn snake that would only go in it's water bowl. after about 6 months i found a nice new owner thanks to craigslist.
