Rewiring a light in a Boaphile 422

treeboa Mar 26, 2013 11:36 AM

My incandescent light in my Boaphile cage quit working (it's about 10 years old). My problem is the wire is under a glued or welded piece of plastic in the ceiling and the cord also seems to be fixed in the hole going out of the cage. I need to splice the cord and there is not enough of it sticking out to do it. Any suggestions?

Is there enough sticking out to solder to? A solder joint and heat-shrink tube will work, and you do not need much wire sticking out to do it.

I thought those Boaphiles allowed the cord to move in and out. I guess not.

I'm going to try that.
