Safely distracted so I can get her picture without her trying to eat me. She being fed in a 12.7 quart tub for size reference.

She is the offspring of my Stillwater Hypo x Kingsville Red pair. Even more interesting than her color is her size; she is quickly outstripping her parents in size and is bigger than them although she was born in August of 2011. Her appetite is prodigious! She could eat adult rats but I only raise mice so she gets my retired breeders. I just feed her til she is satisfied.

Interesting. Never had any problems with a regurge when you allow her to eat her fill? I often hear folks remark about how easily Pits can regurge.

Only rarely have I had regurge, usually with very young small snakes. I can pretty well gauge what is the right amount of food for the size of the snake now, and have not had regurge in years.

Thanks!
My eventual plan with her is to breed her to one of my patternless males. Right now she is too young even though she is gigantic and her future mates are even younger, and look like earthworms next to her! LOL! Hopefully offspring from that would result in very large babies that would be het for patternness, and eventually result in the following generation being huge patternless.

She is eating a long haired mouse. In my mousery I have a line of long haired mice which I propagate for fun. My snakes don't seem to mind the extra fiber.
