Boris' exploratory surgery didn't go well today. His kidneys had failed and the vet told me the kind thing to do was not to wake him up. He was 14 years old, and he was the reason we have our other snakes. Without Boris when she was very young, my daughter wouldn't now have Frank and Martin (her ball pythons). My daughter and I went out to lunch today and celebrated Boris' life, telling all the many funny stories about him. He was a very special snake, touched many folks' hearts, was on TV twice, and will be greatly missed.

Sorry for your loss. Please send me your email address to mssdds56@att.net and I will let you know around the August/September time frame when a pair of neonates is ready to be sent to you!

I am so, so very sorry for your loss.

I must say, it shows that Boris had a great life with you and your daughter. First of all, he was named after such a wonderful actor. Second of all, his owners cared very much for him, and that is something that can not be said for every snake out there in captivity. You all flourished in the joy of what it means to own these fine creatures to begin with, and understood the impact Boris had in your lives.

Also, the fact he was your first snake, being a gray banded king, the king of all kings, shows your family had great taste!!

My heart is heavy for your loss, but I also find much to celebrate, as well, as it seems you are concentrating on not the loss, but the time spent with Boris. He was 14 years old in your care as well. That is a testimony to great care! Many snakes in captivity do not make it to be that old.

I also am ecstatic about the generous offer the other poster made to you. Very kind and shows forth a kind spirit of giving, from one herper, to another.

Blessings!
