Kenyan or West African Sand Boas?

rhasputin Apr 20, 2013 01:30 PM

I got these boas from 2 different sources. Both told me they were Kenyan, but someone mentioned that the pattern on one looked a bit like it could be a West African rather than a Kenyan, and that's important for me to know because I have males and females together, and the West Africans lay eggs, and the East Africans have live birth. I have no idea if I can tell the difference, or if anyone can, I've read a lot of conflicting information about identification.

Here's photos of all 4.

Agamemnon (normal male)

Ashura (Anerythristic male)

Akasha (normal female, has some eye trauma from when I got her)

Cascabel (normal female)

Any advice would be appreciated!

They are all kenyans. West African sand boas have a distinct pattern and a hook at the tip of their tail.
