Corn layed........

jsinhardcore May 01, 2013 12:03 PM

To nest her i dug down about 4-5 inches and layered some moss, leaf litter and other rotting plant stuff

Then covered the plant stuff witha plywood board

buried the board

Put her stacks back and positioned a basking lamp over the buried board

Eventualy she found her way under the board and today this

She did have 4 other nesting options to choose from.

The eggs were put on a slightly damp perlite/vermiculite mix, covered with polyethyline and a well ventilated lid

Not gonna do anything special incubation wise. Just gonna let them cook at room temp.

Love the nesting you give your girl. I'm thinking about trying something similar next year with a few of my hognose girls. May try it for one of my corn girls. For now, they get their dollar tree plastic containers packed full with moss.
