Litter 7 PANDA PIED MAKERS!!!

boxienuts May 04, 2013 09:46 PM

This is a very significant litter. The dame is a melanistic female and the sire is het piedbald. These babies aren't much to look at because they are phenotypically normal, but they are 100% het melanistic and 50% poss het piebald, so they have incredible genetic potential. They have the potential to make a white snake with black patches, which could be very impressive looking. A total of 9 live babies, two stills, and a few jellys.

Thanks Mike unfortunately I didn't get any females, all males which is a major set back. I do have another female that could produce poss panda pied hets still to go. Hopefully Ed Hohne will prove out the pied gene this year.

I was hoping to prove out the pied gene but my "het" female had a bunch of still borns and none showed any signs of being pied. What a bummer. I will try again next year and hope for better luck.
I hope that Panda project pans out!
Ed
