Gaboon Viper Parasite

Trolligans May 11, 2013 06:04 PM

Several years ago someone on here posted a photo of a parasite that was vomited up by an imported Gaboon Viper (I think). I'm trying to find out who posted this photo.

Does anyone remember?
Thanks

Not sure who posted the photo, but that is a tongue worm or pentastomid. I believe this one is from the genus Armillifer. My guess would be A. armillatus but could possibly be another Armillifer sp. Tongue worms live in the lungs of the host and those of the genus Armillifer are typically found in African and asian vipers and pythons.
