First clutch of Honduran eggs

Denbar May 24, 2013 09:33 AM

This is my first clutch of the year, from a female I hatched out in 2010. Her mother was a hypo tangerine and her dad a anery supposed to be het for amel. I bred her back to her father and backed up with my ghost male as well. 7 beautiful eggs.

This is her as a juvenile. The yellow really declined quite a bit.

Three more females in the wings!!

That's a cool-looking female and a nice clutch that she gave you.

she's really a nice looking tri color. Most Hypos as adults don't look as good!

Thanks Rusty. Next is my anery het ghost by ghost. They made some nice ghosts last year, then my VP female, and another 2010 tri-color I hatched and held back. By the way, thanks for your help and assistance last year with my hypo identification matters.

Looking forward to seeing your productlions too.

Anytime sir, I hope to have another great year, but I won't know for sure until I have fertile eggs...should be in a few weeks.

Thanks again Rusty. How many females do you anticipate clutches from this year? Do any of yours produce second clutches?

I have the following pairings:

1)Mega Hypo Het Snow (male, pictured below) X Snow poss Het Hypo, poss Triple Homo (female)

The Snow is a big unknown because she has eggs still inside her from last year, but she ovulated again so I decided to try breeding her again to see what happens. If she doesn't lay then it's off to a vet. I hoping she at least passes the eggs from last year.

2)Mega Hypo Het Snow (male) X Amel poss Het Ghost from Mega (first year for this female, direct offspring of the Mega Hypo, female pictured below)

Her color has changed over the past couple of years and I REALLY like it!

3)Mega Hypo Poss Het Snow (first year for this male, pictured below) X Hypo Het Snow(female)

4)Ghost poss Het Amel (male, pictured below) X Hypo Het Snow (female)

I didn't breed my Triple Homozygous male (pictured below) to any female yet, I'll use him on the Hypos Het Snow (females) for second clutches. So, yes I can double clutch but it all depends on how the first clutches go.

Next year I hope to have both of these females (Ghost 66% Het Amel and Mega Hypo 66% Het Snow) to breeding size:

This Hybino poss Het Anery could be ready next year too.

Thanks for the overview. I am very interested in how things go for you with the snow that retained eggs. It will be great if she just passes them as duds with the new eggs.

Those two in the next to last pic are really fascinating looking too!
