Checkered garter sick

snake1gal May 26, 2013 11:28 AM

I have an albino checkered garter snake I've had for 7 years.
Recently it has suddenly gotten a lot thinner and has started regurgitating meals. it also looks like it has a larger behind (ill get a pic later if needed). I thought maybe it was clogged up with feces or something, if it is, is there anything i can do for it? I tried giving it a bath already. Or something else it could be? Please let me know if you have any ideas!

I am not sure, but I believe that gartersnakes do not live as long as many other colubrids. I do think you should seek help for the snake. I'm just saying that 7 yrs might be getting old for this type of snake. Hopefully someone will offer advice or correct me if I am wrong.
