Everglades Behavior...

I have a male and female everglades in the same cage now for about a week. I noticed the two of them are always together, side by side, or on top of one another. I know that snakes are solitary by nature, but this is crazy, they're almost like boyfriend and girlfriend. They seem to be enjoying each others company too much. I'm tempted to just leave them together. Is this behavior normal with mates or is this strictly due to the mating season?

I would say this behavior is due to the breeding season based on my experience with this subspecies.
