Fox snake? Interesting how you don't see many of those. Are there any morphs?

Yes, there are albinos. They had a couple at the Nature Center I visited, as well as a normal. Years ago there was a hypo line, but I don't know if it still exists.
They can at times be good-looking snakes, with a gold background and copper-colored head, but for some reason they never "caught on" in the hobby in a significant way.
I'm pretty sure Easterns are protected within most of their range, though there are a few people producing captive-bred Fox Snakes.

I was first introduced to fox snakes by my friend Richard Evans when we were at Abilene Christian University back in the late 70s. Actually I can credit him with really getting me going in the hobby. We did a lot of late night West Texas road cruising.
