This snake is a real Grump. No biting but doesn't like being bothered. I'm handling him on purpose a lot to see if I can get him to change his grumpy ways. Took this quick iphone pic and thought he looked so good he'll probably be allowed to stay here grumpy or not. Lol

Thanks Jason. Coming from a guy like you with so many nice animals means a lot.

I once caught a massive 6ft Sonoran Gopher snake in Cochise County Arizona that was possessed. She was an incredible specimen but would literally launch herself at you trying to bite. This went on for weeks...

...so I made her new home our primary bathroom. She had to put up with constant interruptions all day every day and believe it not, within about 6 weeks she was as docile as the rest of my snakes

As a plus, the screams from guests who would be midstream and get the loud 'hiss' from a snake they hadn't noticed were a great source of amusement.

Ha! Lol

Yes. I've seen where folks have deliberately placed a snake in a high traffic area. Seems kind of cruel from a certain perspective but gets the snake acclimated. I think I saw a post once where Dan Felice did that with something on the high strung side. I've seen it at times in petshops in malls where Ribbon snakes and other nervous species just got so used to things they mellowed out instead of crashing into the glass.

I caught a LOT of snakes for the couple years that I lived there and many 5ft Sonorans, but they were usually scarred up and imperfect. This female was the largest of them all at over 6ft (couple inches shy of 7ft...unheard of for Sonorans in that area) and flawless. Not a single nick or scratch. I always attributed that to her crazy aggressive behavior. I wouldn't want to mess with her either

One of my biggest regrets in this hobby was giving in to another hobbyist who wanted her badly. Sometimes the story is worth keeping the snake

I had a Burmese whose favorite place to hang out was the back of the toilet tank... great fun!! Another one I had was about 17 ft, he camped out either in the bath tub, or under the cushions of the couch... more great fun!!
