New Chuck Cage ---IN PROGRESS

Gsc Jun 28, 2013 09:16 PM

Even though it was 103 degrees out today in Texas, I decided to start work on another chuckwalla cage. Currently there are two cages...just working on adding in a 3rd (along with building up the sides and adding a roof). Last winter the chucks did great but the PVC frame with bird netting and plastic didn't hold up to our strong winds..... note from experience: Bird netting collapsed into cage and worked like a gill net in the ocean... had to cut the chuckwallas out of it--- use it with caution. Anyways- I'll stop my rambling. I'll make sure to post more pics as the cage progresses--- same basic style I always use (you can find pics & info on my website--- and a link to the originator's site with step-by-step building info...Gus/Rio Bravo Reptiles is amazing).

Cheers,
Graham

Once it's done I'll build some raised cactus beds around the sides--- and lay down alot of weed cloth & gravel for walkways to the cages. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing Gus, I'd like to see pics of the finished set up. I'm thinking about adding some cactus to my set up also....
