Cheap Racks/Cages?

sleepingwithserpents Jul 05, 2013 01:49 PM

Hello. I am looking to improve my reptile room without spending a fortune. Does anyone know where I can find good quality racks/cages for boas and ball pythons without it costing me an arm and a leg?

I would also be interested in seeing DIY plans if anyone is willing to share. Thanks!!

Best bet is to find used, good condition, racks made by FB, ARS, or Vision locally. Some hobbyist is usually downsizing or upgrading to more expensive racks. Locally because sales are always p/u only. I bought my vision and fb new because of my location. mike

I agree with Mike. Used racks are usually just as functional as new racks only may have cosmetic flaws. Look around and make offers. Worst they can say is No.

See youtube for homemade rack examples if you decide to try DIY racks. I did the DIY route before to save money, and I was never truly satisfied. Now I have a small used "professional" setup. I thought I was paying too much for a rack when I first bought it. Now, IMO totally worth every cent. It is portable, light-weight, can be taken apart if needed, easy to clean, easy to replace heating elements if ever necessary, etc. Way better than heavy wood racks. Again, IMO.
