I kept and bred a number of rosies back in the day. My advice to you with rosies is one per cage, with the cage not being too big. They really like being secure and alone.

I have kept rosies together, and I used to keep pairs together all Spring, then separate them the rest of the time. That approach worked great for breeding. However, I still maintain that single is best for these snakes.

Here's a little rosy habitat. They exist at this spot, but timing and moisture are crucial components to finding them during the day.

Hi Mark, I was beginning to think no one ever comes to the Rosies forum any longer....thanks for responding.

I really wasn't concerned with the breeding aspect of them....just being able to house them together for a while. Such as maybe a W. Hognose and a Rosy without one eating the other or freaking out with something else in with them. I know not to put together known snake eaters with them...but not sure how it goes housing them. I'm talking temporally like maybe a week to a month....not keeping them together long term.

As for the habitat, cool photo! I live sort of close to a area that is similar looking, but I'm sure is a hell of lot hotter! I've seen snakes there before, they were small black ones, couldn't get close enough to really tell what they were though. The photos are from one of our state parks, called Enchanted Rock.

Thanks again for responding.....is this not a very active forum for Rosies? Is there a more active one you know of by chance?

Mike
