Well I got home and there were a couple more hypos out. One looks slightly different than the rest but it may just be due to it having a very clean pattern. There is one more ghost in an egg that is only letting me see his back. I'm dying to see his eyes. Kind of hoping they're black so that I can have two different hypos possibly represented. There were two eggs that hadn't pipped yet so I cut them and found full term dead babies...one hypo and one het. I haven't counted yet but this clutch makes sense other than its difficult to tell if there are two types of hypos present or not. Once they shed it may be easier. Will post more pics when everyone is out.

Can't wait to see the images of your snakes. Maybe you've got black eyes or blue eyes.

All are out and I got a pair of red-eyed ghosts. Gonna have to keep those. It looks like there are two visual "stillwater line" hypos, three of the generic line, and one that could possibly be both. They're all deep in shed right now so I'm anxiously awaiting them to shed. Will post pics to get your input as soon as I can after they shed. The ghosts are just out of this world light and clean. I'm feeling pretty lucky.

Just though as why a red ghost. It could be that it is both strains of hypo and whitesided.

Or Stillwater Hypo(bloodline) whitesided and albino. Maybe the Stillwater Hypo gene masked differently then the other line. There is a lot of Stillwater Hypo gene combo ed with other recessive traits yet.

I'm not 100% sure of anything. Right now it's just a fitting descriptive name, even if it is a double homozygous hypo white side. I suppose I could give them some trick marketing name like "Amittyville Ghost". HA!

Regardless, they're not going anywhere so I can do some test breeding with them (probably along with a couple of other hypos that will stay here). The composition of phenotypes within the clutch makes fair sense with the what would be expected when breeding the triple hets together without any amelanism present. So I'm leaning more towards last years pair lucking out (actually I'd rather the albino weren't in there) and being het for albino (quad het) and the second pair being triple het.

Did you seen Rainshadows pic below of the red-eyed ghost that he got from Jonel? It's supposed to be from a stillwater hypo as well, so it makes some sense and lends a little credence to the theory. You could very well be right about one or all of your theories though. Hard to say. All I know is that I've got a cool new pair of snakes that I'm going to enjoy for years to come. I'll feed the male well and breed him back to grandma (pure stillwater hypo)and mom and see what comes out. I've got a generic ghost that I'll breed the female to in a few years and see what comes out there. Time will tell.
