I bred APM for the first this year. Both parents are apricots but some of the babies have white bands instead of orange. Is this normal?

I bred APM for the first this year. Both parents are apricots but some of the babies have white bands instead of orange. Is this normal?
It is normal. It's my understanding that the color is not a simple recessive trait but can be line bred to favor one color or the other but it is normal to see both whites and apricots in a clutch with all varying degrees of color in between on the "white" band.
