one of 26 CBB elapsoides I produced one season years ago....

That sounds like a cool experience. I bet you got good at catching those ground skinks too!

Norm
What a heartbreaking story. You sure were busy back then with all those elapsoides!!! I bet that picture brings back a lot of memories for you. Thanks for sharing.
Dave
Really, really nice animal, Norm. Are you working with any elapsoides these days?

unfortunately no....I actually released about 25 babies and 8-adults tothe wild here in Florida when I decided to focus solely on emerald tree boas and chondros. I was actually paranoid about crypto since lizard eaters are prone to carry it and corallus caninus and batesii are very susceptible to it...
if I had two snake rooms with separate sinkd that would have been ideal. anyhow, Dave N assures me that baby milks can be reared without ever smelling or tasting a lizard so it really has me tempted...........

Those are a couple of very cool photos posted below. I have never seen one of those with that much black. It is very impressive.

yes indeed, that is the best high black elapsoides I have ever seen also. if you saw it in the wild you would have to do a double take to make sure it wasnt a coral snake. It sired several clutches for me, including several high black neos I wanted to cross back to him...HOWEVER, I kept all my adult elapsoides in neo racks, and this one managed to escape. I would never trust another elapsoides to any lidless rack system. my cornerstone high black breeder escaped...made me ill...
norm
I bet that did make you sick. So much for "escape proof cages."
--Dennis
sick? yep...made me throw in the towel on my elapsoides high black project...
BTW, do you guys really trust lidless neo racks with neo milks, esp the smaller species?
if not what do you use?
norm
Norm, I may be the wrong person to ask that question. Why don't you post it to get some attention from others.
