I am not familiar w/ western garters. southwestern Montana. elegans? sirtalis? Black pattern runs length of belly scales. Habitat: river edge. Thanks.

Looks like T. elegans to me without having any basis to make that except I've seen elegans and sirtalis in other places and it doesn't look like radix.
