The post on the egg size got me wondering about incubation time... Have any of you noticed increased incubation time on Kingsville reds as opposed to other bulls? My first clutch to hatch is KR, they are at 59 days as we speak...Am I going to have to wait longer for them than normal?

Depends on temps. I incubate my stuff at right around 81.5-82 and my stuff hatches in under 60 days for bulls. But it varies from clutch to clutch.

What temperature are you incubating them at? Last year I hatched two clutches using the same Kingsville male, bred to two different females(normals)..at 80-82 degrees they both pipped at 57/58 days respectively...you should be seeing little noses very soon! (Fingers crossed for you ) I think some incubate at slightly lower temps than I did,but I just fell back on what I'd done with other colubrids in the past, and the results were basically what I expected.

They've been about 82, and tomorrow (sunday) will be day 60. They need a cheerleader!

i incubated at 80.5 - 81.0 and the first clutch (young, 3yo) was 70 days. the reds were 64 and 66 days at same temp.

I DON'T WANNA WAIT 10 MORE DAYS!?!?! I'm going to throw a fit!

You know I never payed that much attention but now that you said something. My Kingsvilles and my Red Albino Bulls took at least a week longer then the rest of my Bulls to hatch.

My banana eggs were laid 10 days after the KR, and I think they are going to hatch first! This waiting sucks! I'm tempted to play ball python breeder and cut one, just to see if they are still in there. The eggs look like sh!t...collapsing and such
