Cage design help

zippybomb Aug 11, 2013 03:35 PM

Hey guys, I've decided to start my monitor on a bigger enclosure, whether that will be his full sized or a temporary on in between is yet to be decided. I'm thinking of using this marine board, which seems like plywood coated in plastic. So, I have two questions: 1. Should I silicon the cage together as well as us screws or nails, or will those suffice? 2. I'm don't have much experience with building stuff like this, so I would like to know, would it be easier for a beginner to make a sliding doors and install the tracks, or to make hinges and drill through the glass? Are there any other methods for making cage doors? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Many people including myself use pre framed windows for the front of the cages, I got lucky and scored a shower door that was easy to put hinges on.

Any decent grade plywood will work, just paint on a good sealer.
