"Anery" Juno Road??

snmreptiles Aug 13, 2013 12:30 AM

I had a clutch from a first time pairing of Juno Roads start to hatch on Sunday night...To my surprise it looks like one may be Anerythristic...I also have two that have really black heads! Definitely a cool clutch! I am smiling to say the least! : ) What do you guys think?

I had five of the original 8 eggs hatch...three days later I cut an egg and have one fully formed dead "Anery". Hoping the other two are just slow to come out!

Very nice. Thanks for fixing the photos. I don't see junos up for sale very often.

I've seen Juno's that looked similar that weren't actually anery. As babies they had highly exaggerated "windows", aka "erasures", where the red should be but as adults they obtained slight red tipping on the interior margins of the black borders. Those were not anerythristic.

Your's seem to be actually anerythristic but I can't quite tell for sure from those photos. If you can see actually white or pinkish(very slight) white coloration where the red should be then they are anerythristic. If there's just the same gray backround color where the red should be then they are probably normals with extreme "windows".
