Coffey line aberrent Graybands

sidsworld20 Aug 13, 2013 09:33 PM

Bought a pair of Dan's super aberrent Graybands 4yrs ago and bred them for the first time this year. I have a renewed interest in his snakes. Anyone know if he is still breeding Graybands and/or who is selling his snakes? Any info would be appreciated.

I wont be much help in answering you question, but I too bought a pair last year from a guy in Alabama. Would love to see pics or your breeding pair as well as this years offspring. Love the variable patterns. Dave

I saw these after I posted my message. My pair look almost exactly like this pr. Amazing animals! Same patterns and black face. I'll post a picture soon as I figure out how to do it on this phone

These are gorgeous! Never saw anything like them. And they're pure gray-banded?

As far as I know, they are. I understand this to be a recessive trait known as coffey line greybands. I do wish I knew more about their origin. I've seen pics of them sporadically over the past few years and couldn't resist when this pair became available. I purchased them as non eaters, but after a couple lizard scenting pinks were taken they've both been on unscented ever since. the male has been a much better eater and is almost twice the size of the female now. Need to take some new pics. dave

Yes they are pure grayband. Unless somebody got some and mixed them up after the fact but I know for sure the Coffey line originated with pure graybands.

Very nice. The ones I've seen lately seem better than the ones a few years ago. I am guessing these are a super form.

Is Dan Cofffey still doing gray bands that you know of?

Aaron Aug 23, 2013 06:05 PM

I don't know. I've only spoken to him once via email couple years ago but he did tell me they were pure graybands. Scott Michaels is working with them now. Feel free to send me a pm if you want more info.

I produced 2 clutches this year. One was from this pair. The hatchlings just shed over the weekend.
