Applegate Gophers

Thome25 Aug 17, 2013 11:33 PM

Hi Guys,

I don't post very often, but lurk quite a bit!

I'm looking for some help with finding a breeder who is working with straight Applegate Gophers.. I have reached out to Jason as well as Shannon, but they are not working with straight Applegates, so please I thought I would try the board. Ideally, I would like to pick up a sub-adult or Adult (Male), but would be very open to purchasing 2013's (a pair) as well. Lastly, a few years back, Shannon had an awesome pair of Applegates that were huge and extemely colorful. It seems like a lot of the Applegates have dulled down in color, so I would be very interested in an "old school" type animal!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing back!

Ryan

Exotic Pets Las Vegas has some for sale. You could contact Bob himself to inquire.... In the early days of his breeding them there was some variability which saw some being more yellow than orange as well as color "running" into the white dorsal blotches. That seems to be seen even more these days. There were a few at Daytona on display. The original male was something wonderful to see I can assure you....

"Bob" is the originator Bob Applegate... he's in Campo, California. Ken Foose owns the Las Vegas store. I can't remember which but either Triple LLL Reptile out of California or Reptile Kingdom in New Jersey had a pair for sale at Daytona. They looked like the real deal... Didn't sell there I don't believe. Sales were painfully slow...
