A few more Extremes and VP's

craighoitink1 Aug 25, 2013 08:00 PM

Extreme het Ghost X Ghost het amel(red eyes)- all 4 babies hypo or extreme - didn't think I was going to get extremes but nice when it happened.

Extreme x Extreme- last one to come out today

VP's
Not all out just yet but got twins today. Not sure which egg but more snakes than eggs when I checked. I was hoping for less pattern but still nice to see what came out.

Thanks for looking!

Great series of photographs...you can see just how much the "Hypo" trait can vary just in this post alone!

Polymorphic Genetics for sure!

I love how Hondos just glow right out of the egg!

Thanks for posting!

Rusty,
Thanks. Yah no ghosts…..that’s what I was thinking. I know the male is proven and when I pair him up with another Hypo het ghost I sometimes get 50% ghost or higher. Doesn't always make sense.

Hey how are those Mega's doing? Any recent pics?

Yeah, I was just talking about Statistics with a friend of mine...sometimes you just get screwed by the odds!

I haven't taken any recent pics of the Mega line stuff, just been too busy playing with my Western Hogs.

I do have a clutch (Het Megas, using that term very loosely) due to hatch in the next week or so however, stay tuned!

A lot of excitement going on there. I really like your extremes. I have to get me some one of these days. TWINS. Very cool, I had a pair of twins a couple of years ago. When I first saw two noses, I didn't have a camera handy, and never got a really good chance again. Thanks for posting the great pics! That one VP with the dots is a pretty good one. VP's are hard to predict.

Dennis,
You're right VP's are hard to predict sometimes and I'd say Extremes might be worse.
My nicest VP tricolor female with almost no black laid slugs again this year. I bred her at 3 yrs and now at 4 yrs of age. I have never really had any issues where a snake laid bad eggs unless I didn't cool the animal (if needed..like graybands) or sometimes as animals go over 10 years in age I've noticed a decline in fertility. This female is a beast. She never refuses a meal and is about 5' + long. I don’t think she is overweight? I know the male is good because he is the father of the other 2 VP clutches. I saw them hooked up a bunch. Not sure what happened? I'll give it one more year and if nothing she may just make a good pet snake for someone or I might hang onto her because it will be fun to have a hondo over 6' someday.

Maybe she does look a little chubby? That male is about 4.5'

Too bad about the dud clutch. You never know. At least the others make up for that disappointment a little bit.
