I have developed an interest in tge tri colors and keep seeing the term RBR. What does it refer to. Coloring? Red Black Red....?

The commonly-used "RBR" refers to "red body rings" on tricolors.

In addition to what Cole mentioned, the RBR are always counted from neck to vent as well.
