Ot hogs in nature

FR Sep 17, 2013 08:11 AM

again, not a good day, while I saw hogs, I found nothing of interest behaviorally, or even good in situ shots. But I did find this out of hand lizard, ok, two of them.

Is this a green phase?

A hatchling

Lots of last years babies, some from this year. Again it rained and that ruins field work. hahahahahahahahaha good in the long run, bad in the short run, unless you like box turtles

First of all I find your posts to be among the most interesting and educational on this forum. Thank you for providing unique insight into the wild behavior of a snake that most of us have only observed in captivity.
I recently returned from a trip to Hoggie land. I got the privilege of observing and walking through their natural habitat. Very eye opening especially taken in conjunction w/ the info you provided here already. I did not see any adults, but found a pair of neos. Do you find that they're not active directly after rains?

Thank you. Rain more often hinders movement. But it depends on time of year and temps. When its really hot and the rain does not lower the temps to much, they will still see a few. But less then if it would not have rained, if that makes any sense.

Earlier or later in the year, the first cloud sends them down. hahahahahahahahahaha

Theres a common belief that rain out west is a good thing, but if you know how to find a species, rain usually means less observations. Having underground humid is good, and high humidity is good. but wet is not so good. Best wishes
