Savannah line offspring...

rainbowsrus Nov 18, 2013 11:12 AM

Been taking updated pics of my collection and sharing them in groups. These are all Savannah offspring.....

Savannah, she came to me as a rescue, dry crusty skin, retained eyecaps etc. after a few sheds out came this gorgeous female that has started a whole line:

Her first litter with me, mated to Porky, resulted in three holdbacks
Phoenix -

Yang -

And Wendy -

Next she was bred by Nathan resulting in one holdback, Moon:

Then she was bred by my Calico Fluffy for high color hopefully het Calico babies, three more holdbacks...
Belle -

Marcie -

And Spike -

Then I got creative and bred one of her original offspring males back to her and the babies were insane. I kept three out of that first litter...
Elvis -

Erin -

And Presley -

I liked those babies soooo much I did the same pairing again resulting in yet another holdback...
Priscilla -

Also part of the Savannah line are a trio of holdbacks from Wendy x Rosco...

Arwen -

Gwen -

And Wendel -

And a whole litter of holdbacks in the Calico Project I just recently posted...

Who knew one "rescue" could result in so many spectacular babies In total, I now have 25 of her descendants in my collection?

Phew....

Some great BRBs!

Is there anything going on with Spike? or is he just fairly old? I was looking at the photo of him on your site and it looks like he has lost a lot of color.

Several individuals related to the Calico line have gone through similar color changes. Loss of brighter colors, more of a
"brown out" but with white flecking showing up in the crescents. Spike is the only one I know of from the Savannah x Fluffy or Daisy x Fluffy litters that has done so. Most that changed were from the Ann x Fluffy litter. So far I know of 4/16 individuals that changed in the Ann litter, 1/12 in the Savannah litter and 0/15 in the Daisey litter.

Is this related to the Calico Gene? Too early to know. Will be interesting at some point to breed two of the browned out animals to see what the babies do.
