Yes,
I am working with animals I received from Terry.
What is your question?
Fred
Fred,
Thanks! You answered part of my question. If you are not breeding them the second part of the question is mute. But if you are breeding them, what kind of documentation (if any) did you get from Terry as to the legal origin of your ruthveni. I ask this because the species is protected in both TX and LA and I would need documentation before considering a possible purchase. I know some people have keep better source documentation while others have not.
Thanks
TK
I'm working on an educational permit for one and I live here in TX. My local nature center just had their display snake die after 15 years,(cali king. go figure), and announced it in the paper along with a request for someone to donate a snake. I already have requests in for the permit and I thought it would be a great way to help educate the public about our native snakes probable extirpation and I just found out they got a corn snake morph.
Ridiculous.
The devil in me wants to give them one of my kingsnakes with the assurance that the two will get along great. lol
Do you live in TX?
TK
I have bred them the last three years.
I would have to dig up the receipt from Terry it was in 2006.
To the best of my recollection all he provided me was a hand written description of lineage.
Fred

Here ia a shot of my male.
What are you trying to accomplish with "proper documentation"? The recent protections afforded to ruthveni by Louisiana won't effect your ability to possess them outside of the two native population states unless/until USFW declares them to be threatened or endangered.
