What kind of rack do you guys use ?

classdwhite Jan 05, 2014 08:54 PM

I'd like to get a new rack. I have some Hondos about 30" long and am afraid of escapes from too wide if a gap. I've seen AP racks and the gaps between the tubs were huge, what's a good rack that you guys use that have little or no gap ?

I like Boaphile cages and racks the best.

they are a little pricey, but worth it.

I now have all but 6 of my animals in a boaphile and will have them all in boaphiles very soon.

Boaphiles provide tons of sizing options, built in heat, hold humidity well, and look great.

The majority of my racks are from CSerpents, escape proof and still one of the cheaper options. They have a 5 tub rack for 310 shipped thats the main rack I use for adult mexican milks. I have my adult hondos in a rack from boamaster but I had to build it myself and its only escape proof if you use the lid on it and I'm not a fan of racks like that.

Have the vision, FB, and the ARS. Gotta love the ARS above the rest. My first was Vision (BP and Baby rack), then the FB, ARS was the last rack purchased ( mid level and hatchling size in one unit). I should have purchased the FB when the top was all metal instead of a plastic cover for air. I do not care for the plastic ventilation or the way it was shipped by UPS. They won't let you examine for defects the way a private carrier will (FB).

Sweater box-sized is fine for my Nelson's, but I keep my adult Hondurans in this Freedom Breeder.

I use all Animal Plastics racks and love them.

Not sure what you mean by huge gaps - I haven't had that issue with mine and I've kept all kinds and sizes of milks in mine. I keep small NA milks in my tubs also without problem.

Its ok to have a small gap depending on how large the snake is thats in the tub.

Looks interesting. I've only used the black and thought the black helped some animals feel more secure to feed. How do you like the white? Does it have any negative effect on the more nervous ones? Does it get dirty easy? It sure looks nice and it looks MUCH nicer for viewing the animals. It's almost like lighted cages with the ambient lighting freely making its way throughout the Tub. Very nice.

I use Visions and ARS. For smaller racks I find AP very nice too.
