Great picture you took. I got a new field camera and its not too bad at taking close ups. I am just not to good at it.

Its interesting, my pic is a Mexican, and yours a western. I only have a few westerns and each has different head scales. And yours is different as well. Thanks and post more if you could.
Good observation on the scale count. According to Richard Hoyer scale count on snakes is like finger prints on humans. He uses scale count to identify individual animals. His work is with rubber boa's (Charina bottae)& since they look so much alike it is the only way to keep tack of them in his field studies. He has been doing this for over 50 years.
