So very jealous! We still have tons of ice on the ground here.

I have been toying with heading out for amphibs, but that is the one thing (short of frogs and toads calling at night) I havent ever gotten on my own. Any suggestions for when I hit the one habitat I know of?

If you're after salamanders, look for moist woodlands and flip rocks and logs. Some types can also be found along creeks under rocks and logs. Frogs generally are most easily found around ponds. To some extent it depends on where you live.
