Hi!
SO in my clutch of 5 eggs, 3 have hatched. the two left consist of a regular egg, and one that is twice it's size, plump, and healthy in appearance. It hasn't hatched yet, and it's been 2 days since the first snake hatched today. Is it normal for an egg to be so big? And are twins able to hatch without any defects?
Thanks!

Some eggs are bigger than others, and sometimes twins hatch. If its been two days since they started hatching, it doesn't hurt to carefully cut a slit in the top of any eggs that haven't pipped.

This is the first clutch of eggs I had a few years ago.

Thank you! The egg hatched on it's own before the last egg hatched, so I was pleasantly surprised! It's actually smaller than it's sibs, but you can tell by the contents of the egg that a twin had almost grown. Pretty crazy!
So now I have 5 healthy, beautiful babies! 4 normals het alabama and amel, and one amel.

Alabama is a locality; they can't be 'het' for it, just as my cockapoo dog is not 'het' for cocker spaniel and poodle.

You can't make a pure alabama from your snake's offspring, just as I can't make a pure poodle from my dog.

OOps! Sorry! I thought it had an effect on their scales as snakes from the Okeetee region have the bolder borders..
Thanks for the tip! (:
