Hi all,
I have a 7 month old female albino bull snake that I've had since January. She's the first pit I've kept. I was wondering how much they typically weigh at this stage. She weighs 270g as of yesterday which is almost as large as both my yearling king snakes (294g and 280g). She doesn't look overweight at all and is fed 2-3 small/medium mice or rat fuzzys every 6-7 days(approximately 15% of her body weight). Is this a good feeding regiment? Also, are two small meals every 4-5 days the same as one large meal every 7-10 days? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

I think you are wasting your time worrying. I never weigh any of my snakes. What is the point? It is hard to overfeed a Bull. They will grow long as well as thick. If the snake never pukes, and poops up a storm you are on the right track. Soon enough you will wonder if you are feeding her enough... not the other way around. Very easy captives.

Thanks Tom. I'm still tweaking my feeding routine. In your opinion how much and how often should a young bull snake eat? I'm trying to read my snakes but this bull snake seems hungry every 3-4 days .
