This high white female is so gravid, I feel bad for her. Shes gonna drop any day. I'm curious to see if some of the babies are "high white" like their mom. The other female is an outstanding red and blue animal. Thanks for looking. Mike Panichi

They look great Mike, looks like you are going to have a lot of babies on your hands soon.
The high white one looks a lot like the ones that Scott Felzer produced a couple years ago that he called hypos.

Thanks Jeff. She's the female I picked up from you two seasons ago. I really never got the history from you but I figured if I could reproduce some high white babies I could, in theory anyway, start a high white line. Anyway, thanks again. Mike Panichi
Jeeze, wish I would have kept her seeing how sweet she looks now. I do have her redder sister. I think she is the hypo line from Felzer, sorry. Personally I don't think they are hypos per say, the infernalis have natural variation, and that is more on the extreme end. I doubt that trait will bred true. My guess is if you bred that female to a more red male you will get lots of inbetweeners in the babies. I have two females and one is more like your red one and one looks more like the whiter one.
Regardless you will have a lot of nice babies on your hands soon. Good luck with them.

Thanks Jeff. I agree I don't think she's an actual hypo but the way i see it, if they can be selectively bred for more red or blue, they can be selectively bred to have less red or blue. Since I keep them for at least six months anyway, I will be able to see if any are showing the moms coloration or lack there of. I bred her to male that had some of the white tipping, although not as much as her. We will see. Thanks again. Mike Panichi
Mike, I think it is absolutely a worthwhile project to selectively breed for high white. I have been working on a couple selective breeding for suttle variance and actually the results can be amazing IMHO, often more exciting that the standard pool of recessive genes. Best of luck. Hope you make lots of babies. Maybe we swap some babies.
