Not So Tame

I bought a leopard gecko who is 4 months old from a breeder. I kept asking the breeder "are you sure the leo is tame?" & the breeder said "yes very very easy to handle & tame" I received the leopard gecko a week ago & the leopard gecko is not tame. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
