a kingsnake morph you rarely see anymore

mikefedzen May 04, 2014 08:57 PM

Or at least not one I have seen a lot of lately.

The "White Wall" Speckled Kingsnakes. White Wall is basically the white sided gene for those who don't know, these guys are incredible looking snakes, I remember seeing them a lot almost 10 years ago when Tom Stevens was really working with them. When I found a pair of 2013s for sale I had to pull the trigger, here's the male (female ate a little bit more than he did didn't want to mess with her). Can't wait to see these grow up!

OIne of the prettiest morphs there are!.. does not hold a candle to the WS Florida king.

Too bad the babies are so small and are hard to get started feeding. I think that is what made the price drop on these.

I've always liked them, but never got a pair.

from time to time i hear rumblings that white wall/sided animals of specks, florida, and a few rat snakes have been mixed in the past, but i've never seen an animal that looked like a cross between species.

Do you know if there is any truth to animals being crossed to get that trait into other things?

Hi Aaron. rumors are rumors, if your interested in something, do some research, not listen to more rumors, but find out what makes a king a king. Scale counts etc. Then if the animal your interested in, fits then it IS. If it doesn't, then its not.
No offense, but sometimes I say offensive things. Like, these little catagories people make are silly. Like locality, etc. Then get picky about a MORPH, that is not naturally occurring.
Truth is, unless you caught it, how knows what it IS. And even then, hybrids, population crosses, etc, occur naturally. What you find is called a phenotype. And that includes hybrids, morphs etc.

Thw WS speck is legit and never crossed.

The Floridana are the suspected crosses.

I've seen a whitesided Cal king or what appeared to be a whitesided Cal king. I've also seen a whitesided snake that was a whitesided Blat rat X Cal king. So, if these whitesided Cal kings ever start popping up, they will be suspect in my eyes.

Those are beauties. Yeah, you're right, you don't see them around as much as you did a few years ago.
